Printmaking

Rural Tasmania and Christmas Island, where I lived and worked for most of the last 40 years has provided much subject matter for my printmaking. Ideas of migration, cultural shift and a nomadic sense of belonging crossing elemental landscapes are continually explored.

I have been privileged to collaborate with CSIRO scientists Claire Davies and Dr Ruth Eriksen looking at plankton. That exhibition, Undercurrent, was open for 2 months at the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) gallery until 31/3/17. Work is still available through Handmark, Tas

I have extended that work with artists : Sophie Carnell, Katherine Cooper, Gerhard Mausz, Peter Walsh and Toby Muir-Wilson and scientists: Dr Heidi Auman, Dr Frederique Olivier and Associate Professor Patti Virtue , looking at man's impact on our oceans through introduction of plastics into our lifestyle and environment. The exploration has culminated in the exhibition Vanishing Point - Unseen at the IMAS gallery until Dec 2017.

I hope you enjoy the imagery created through etching and aquatint processes.
